Children's Mission
If you see some brother or sister in need and have the means to do something about it but turn a cold shoulder and do nothing, what happens to God's love? It disappears. And you made it disappear. My dear children, let's not just talk about love, let's practice real love.

Mission Projects for Lent
Book Fair
Church of the Redeemer hosted a Scholastic Book Fair the weekend of March 29th and 30th. All profits went towards purchasing books for the students at Charles Mooney School. Susan, the daughter of Paul & Bev Eckard, is a 2nd grade teacher at the school. We had enough to purchase books for children in K-3rd grades and even more left over to benefit more children

2014 Soles for Souls
We collected over 80 pairs of shoes during LENT 2014 to benefit those in need in the City of Cleveland. We were able to use those shoes to create an entryway into the sanctuary on Maundy Thursday. Not only did it enhance our yearlong theme of Journeying with God,
it reminded us of taking off our shoes to stand on sacred ground
and how Jesus washed the feet of the disciples.

Children In-gatherings
The children can bring in food or clothing items each month along with the rest of the congregation as chosen by our Mission Outreach Committee. Sometimes they are collected in their Faith Formation Rooms otherwise, look for the red wagon in the Gathering Room.

2013 Books for Kids With the help of the Mission Outreach committee and the whole congregation, the children collected over 1700 books for Luis Munoz Marin School on Cleveland's Near West Side. This was accomplished by donations of used books that were then categorized by reading level and also the purchase of new books through a Scholastic Book Fair and Pancake Breakfast. |
